Finally had a couple of hours in the wild (well almost)
18/05/10
The other evening enjoying a stroll early evening in what has been a cold spring, along the banks of the River Cocker close to Cockermouth town centre a Treecreeper was busy back and forward to a nest. I returned the next morning and got a few snaps before the sun hid again.
On returning the next day I was delighted & disappointed to find they'd fledged. I hang around for a good couple of hours and resigned myself to having missed them. Above the noise of other birds calling and the distractions of contractors re-building the town, I thought I could hear it calling?
I was just about to leave when the adult flew over my head and indicated where the youngster maybe. Sure enough a couple of minutes later the youngster hopped out from where it had been hidden and proceeded to hang around where I could see it for ages.
Sadly in terms of photos it was both too far up a tree... maybe next year?
